Kate Dodson thinks she has everything figured out. She just moved into a new house that she loves, and her job at little Joes diner pays the bills. She loves being single, and cant imagine being tied down to a husband, or children. But there are missing pieces in her life. Her twin sister, Kloe vanished years ago, and no one can seem to find her. But one day, out of the blue, two children show up at the diner where she works. They claim that they are her long lost niece and nephew, and they have a letter from Kloe. The letter explains that the children are in danger, but not what kind of danger. And it doesnt give any clue about Kloes whereabouts. Suddenly, Kate is thrust into parenthood, while desperately trying to find her sister, before its too late.
